Staff Product Designer, Design System at Zscaler, sitting within the Product Management department and reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Design. Owns the evolution of the design ecosystem, ensuring consistency, scalability, and excellence across all products.
What you'll do
- Create and refine scalable components and patterns for product efficiency and cohesiveness
- Contribute to and refine the design system end-to-end, including tokens, components, patterns, documentation, governance
- Use AI-powered tool stacks like Claude Code and Cursor to generate, iterate on, and launch prototypes and products
- Compress the loop between idea and shipped pattern by accelerating documentation and automating design-to-code handoff
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools
- 8-10 years product design experience, including 2+ years scaling enterprise design systems
- Experience working with engineering and design on design system goals and mentorship
- Deep fluency in token architecture, theming, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
- Deep understanding of front-end constraints and fluency reading code
- Extensive experience in design tools like Figma for component development
Nice to have
- Ability to solve complex design challenges with scalable solutions
- Experience building AI-powered tooling or automation for design system workflows
- Experience designing systems for cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, or complex domains
