This role owns the evolution of Zscaler's design ecosystem, ensuring consistency, scalability, and excellence across all products. It sits in the Product Management department, reporting to the Sr Manager, Design System. The role uses AI-native tools to design, build, and iterate on the design system at pace.
What you'll do
- Design, architect, and refine reusable components and interaction patterns, focusing on structural relationships and scalability
- Write component specifications, usage guidelines, and standards, leveraging AI for drafting and documentation
- Utilize AI-powered developer and design tools to build live prototypes, validate architectural feasibility, and accelerate implementation
- Partner with UI engineers to align design intent with web technologies, ensuring responsive, accessible, consumable components
- Support product design teams adopting the design system, assisting with component architecture and troubleshooting layouts
What we're looking for
- Proven experience integrating AI assistants or generation/prototyping tools into daily design and development workflow
- 6+ years of Product/UX Design experience
- 1–2 years of dedicated contribution to a multi-product design system
- Demonstrated expertise in systematic component architecture across patterns, templates, and applications
- Familiarity with accessibility frameworks such as WCAG 2.1/2.2 and structural layouts built for responsiveness
- Strong collaborative skills educating and guiding designers on systematic guidelines and structured grids
Nice to have
- Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency
- Literacy in modern frontend technologies such as React, CSS/HTML, token-driven theming, or JSON properties
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to generate, customize, or preview coded components
- Experience designing systems for cyber security, infrastructure, developer tools, or other highly technical domains
