Verkada is hiring a Lead Product Designer to own the source of truth for its digital language and design system. The role bridges UX designers and frontend engineering, ensuring the hardware-software interface stays cohesive, accessible and polished.
What you'll do
- Define and maintain the core Figma component library, tokens and documentation
- Create scalable systems across responsive web, mobile and specialised hardware interfaces
- Establish the process for proposing, vetting and integrating new components
- Act as a bridge between design and engineering for pixel-perfect implementation
- Build and test interactive components and prototypes
- Pinch hit as needed on cross-product experiences
What we're looking for
- 7+ years of product design experience, 4+ years in design systems
- Expert-level Figma proficiency (auto-layout, variables, prototyping)
- Deep understanding of frontend development and WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience coordinating between Figma and Storybook or similar tool
- Portfolio demonstrating polished visual design and systemic thinking
- Technical/UX writing skill, especially naming components in a system context
- Ability to speak expertly on interaction, visual, motion and writing layers
Nice to have
- Icon design: create and maintain an icon library
- Motion design: create custom animations (Lotties, etc)
- Illustration: create bespoke assets that give brand personality
