Senior Software Engineer role on Thumbtack's Design Systems team, which owns Thumbprint, the company's design system across web, iOS, and Android, plus the tooling connecting design intent to shipped code. This role focuses on web and AI-assisted workflows, partnering with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows moving work between Figma, prototypes, and production frontend codebase
- Work as engineering counterpart to Product Design, pairing on patterns, components, and workflows
- Evolve Thumbprint so it composes cleanly with agentic tooling
- Partner with Developer Experience on AI tooling and Frontend Infrastructure on web stack
- Engage engineers and designers who use what you build, run office hours, prioritize feedback
- Prototype and evaluate emerging AI development tooling, bring recommendations on adoption
What we're looking for
- Experience as frontend engineer building production product surfaces with systems-thinking instincts
- Deep hands-on fluency with TypeScript, React, and surrounding build/test/deploy tools
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
- Track record building tools and infrastructure adopted by other engineers or non-engineers
- Strong cross-functional collaboration instincts with designers, PMs, and partner teams
- 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering
