Lead Product Designer, Design Systems is a contract role owning the evolution of reusable components, patterns, and foundations for Robert Half's design system. Sits at the intersection of UX, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Brand, driving system strategy, governance, and adoption.
What you'll do
- Translate product and experience needs into scalable design system solutions
- Partner with engineering to evolve the design system for scalability and accessibility
- Evaluate product designs to identify opportunities for standardization
- Build partnerships with UX, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Brand teams
- Lead strategic design system initiatives and contribute to roadmap planning
- Champion design quality through accessibility reviews and implementation validation
- Contribute to design system governance, balancing flexibility with consistency
- Champion adoption through consultation, education, documentation, and partner engagement
- Mentor designers and foster a culture of collaboration and systems thinking
- Contribute to ongoing operation of Figma libraries, documentation, and release communications
What we're looking for
- BA or equivalent in related field
- 5-8+ years of experience in Product Design or UX Design
- 3+ years contributing to and evolving enterprise design systems
- Portfolio demonstrating scalable design patterns and cohesive accessible experiences
- Strong eye for visual craft, interaction quality, and detail
- Expert proficiency in Figma including component architecture and design tokens
- Exceptional knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, React
- Experience across the design-to-code workflow including Storybook and design QA
- Strong communication and documentation skills for cross-functional teams
- Online portfolio accompanying resume/CV
Nice to have
- Familiarity with design system analytics or adoption metrics
- Experience designing for internationalization and localization
- Experience with accessibility audits and remediation efforts
- Experience with automation, AI-assisted workflows, MCPs, or Figma plugins
