Rivian is hiring a Staff Product Designer for its Design Systems team. The role owns scalable UI frameworks and cross-platform patterns spanning in-vehicle, mobile, and web experiences, shaping the structure and language of Rivian's digital ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve scalable UI frameworks across in-vehicle, mobile, and web platforms
- Create cross-platform patterns and systems that are modular, reusable, and expressive
- Collaborate with Design Systems, Product, and Engineering on visual frameworks and component libraries
- Build and document patterns in Figma and Zeroheight with specs and usage guidance
- Prototype and test systems using Figma, ProtoPie, or code
- Contribute to design system governance, standards, and versioning practices
- Champion accessibility, localization, and performance across frameworks
- Mentor and inspire peers on systems thinking and design infrastructure
What we're looking for
- Portfolio link with login credentials required for review
- 10+ years crafting user-centered digital products
- 2-3 years building design systems, frameworks, or cross-platform consistency
- Portfolio showing scalable design patterns across platforms and brands
- Mastery of Figma including components, variants, tokens, file organization
- Balance of systemic thinking and visual precision
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proven experience working with engineers and design systems peers
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Zeroheight or Storybook
- Experience in cross-functional or cross-platform environments
