Rivian is hiring a Lead Product Designer to scale design systems across vehicle, mobile and web platforms. The role owns the frameworks, patterns and documentation that unify a multi-brand digital ecosystem. Work spans architecture, governance and cross-functional alignment with product and engineering.
What you'll do
- Architect scalable UI frameworks for in-vehicle infotainment, mobile apps and web platforms
- Create modular, reusable and expressive cross-platform patterns balancing flexibility with brand integrity
- Partner with product and engineering to align visual frameworks with technical architecture
- Build and maintain pattern libraries in Figma and documentation tools
- Prototype and test complex systems using Figma and ProtoPie or code
- Lead establishment of design standards, versioning practices and feedback loops
- Champion accessibility, localization and performance across frameworks
- Mentor peers and the L5 team on systems thinking and design infrastructure
What we're looking for
- Portfolio showcasing scalable design patterns and cross-platform experiences
- 10+ years crafting user-centred digital products
- 3+ years building design systems, frameworks or cross-platform consistency
- Expert-level mastery of Figma including components, variants, variables, tokens
- Ability to abstract complexity into modular, high-craft solutions
- Experience collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders on production-ready UI
- Exceptional skills documenting system rationale for technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Zeroheight or Storybook
- Experience in multi-brand or white-label environments
