Rentman is hiring a Design System Developer to own the code side of its design system, building the Angular component library and token pipeline as a versioned product. Working in a two-person team alongside a Design System Designer, you'll drive adoption and replace legacy UI release by release.
What you'll do
- Define the governance model, token pipeline, and adoption strategy
- Run the system as a versioned product with semver, changelogs, and deprecations
- Engineer the token pipeline from a DTCG source of truth into code
- Turn Storybook addons into CI gates for visual regression, accessibility, and interaction tests
- Drive code-side adoption measured in real production code
- Make the system AI-ready with machine-readable metadata, docs-as-code, and an MCP/AGENTS.md surface
- Pair daily with the Design System Designer on spec handshake and Definition of Done
What we're looking for
- Experience building and maintaining a shared component library other teams depend on
- Track record measuring success in production adoption, not components shipped
- Fluency in Storybook as build, docs, and test workbench
- Literacy in token pipelines and DTCG migrations
- End-to-end ownership of a library's evolution, breaks, and adoption
- Experience running migrations to completion
- Skill designing composable, typed component APIs without prop bloat
- Ability to track moving standards such as DTCG, Angular, and AI tooling
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Accessibility as a default: semantic markup, keyboard operability, automated checks
- Production Angular experience: component authoring, inputs/outputs, content projection, ViewEncapsulation, styling strategy
