Senior Product Designer, Design Systems role at Pliant, sitting within a small design team that reports directly to a founder. The role splits time between shipping product features and owning the design system's evolution, including its shift toward AI-assisted workflows.
What you'll do
- Own the design system domain: components, tokens, patterns, documentation
- Design end-to-end product features across web, mobile, internal tools and dashboards
- Restructure tokens, components and documentation so AI agents can read and use them
- Partner with engineering to keep design system and codebase in sync
- Define and champion standards, review component usage across flows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers and stakeholders
- Wear multiple hats and jump into projects outside main scope
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in product design, UX/UI or digital design, including 1+ year senior/lead
- Deep expertise building, scaling and governing a design system
- Strong command of component architecture, design tokens, theming and documentation
- Advanced Figma skills: variables, modes, component properties, auto-layout
- Understanding of how design systems map to front-end code
- Proven ability to design end-to-end experiences across web, mobile, internal tools, dashboards
- Excellent craft in interaction and visual design
- Proactive, highly organised way of working with autonomy
- Strong communication skills, presenting work and rationale
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments
Nice to have
- Curiosity about AI/agent-assisted design workflows
- Experience in fintech or B2B SaaS
