Ondo Finance is hiring a senior product designer to own, hands-on, the design systems behind everything the company ships. You'll own the institutional and consumer systems outright and support the marketing team's system so brand and design-to-code stay aligned. You'll join a small, senior team, building components and tokens yourself while setting direction.
What you'll do
- Own two design systems end to end: components, tokens, theming, patterns, and Figma libraries across web and mobile
- Support the marketing team's design system so brand practice and design-to-code stay consistent
- Define the expressive layer: visual language, motion principles, and interaction details for both systems
- Design and ship the full stack from primitives through page templates with polished interaction and visual rigor
- Partner with UI engineers so tokens and components map cleanly to the production component library
- Define how the system works on mobile: platform interactions, responsive behavior, and web/native parity rules
- Hold the system to WCAG 2.2 AA across color contrast, focus, keyboard behavior, motion, and screen-reader semantics
- Write documentation and contribution guides usable by designers, engineers, and AI agents
- Run governance across teams: contribution and review process, versioning, deprecation, and adoption tracking
- Audit the system proactively to find gaps and drift, then prioritize and drive fixes
- Use AI tooling daily: agents, markdown guideline files, and MCP integrations
What we're looking for
- 6+ years in product design, including 3+ years focused on design systems
- Experience building and scaling a shared design system across web and mobile
- Strong UI craft: visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and polished interaction details
- Ability to build scalable components and design tokens, including theming
- Understanding of how components and tokens translate into front-end libraries (React, React Native, Swift/Kotlin)
- Advanced Figma skills: variables and modes, auto layout, component properties, library management at scale
- Track record working closely with engineers as a day-to-day partner
- Strong accessibility knowledge and experience shipping WCAG AA compliant components
- Clear documentation writing and experience running governance across teams
- Fluency with AI tooling in design or engineering workflows
- Experience with design-to-code tooling such as Code Connect, token pipelines, or Storybook
- Systems thinking with sharp attention to detail
- Portfolio showcasing design systems work: components, tokens, documentation, and reasoning
Nice to have
- Experience with crypto, onchain or tokenized-asset products
- Experience in fintech, exchanges, or trading platforms
- Familiarity with crypto and digital-asset products or tokenized assets and markets
- Experience setting up motion and interaction standards within a system
- Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
