Senior Design System Designer role within NinjaTrader's growing Design organisation, working closely with the Design Systems Lead. Owns evolving and scaling the design system to enable consistent, high-quality experiences across the trading platform.
What you'll do
- Partner with the Design Systems Lead to evolve and scale the design system across web, desktop, and mobile
- Create, document, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, templates, and interaction guidelines
- Maintain and extend design token architecture supporting scalable implementation across platforms
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure components are accurately implemented in Storybook and production
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency, usability, accessibility, and efficiency
- Build and optimise Figma libraries, variables, plugins, automation, and AI-assisted workflows
- Support product designers with guidance, documentation, onboarding, and best practices
- Contribute to governance processes ensuring intentional evolution of the design system
- Help define and track adoption metrics, component health, and system usage
What we're looking for
- 7+ years in UX, UI, or Product Design, including 2+ years focused on design systems
- Experience designing, documenting, and maintaining scalable component libraries for complex products
- Expert proficiency in Figma including components, variables, auto layout, libraries, automation
- Strong understanding of design tokens, component architecture, design-to-development workflows
- Working knowledge of Storybook and modern frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks)
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Strong visual design, interaction design, and systems thinking skills with a portfolio
- Experience balancing consistency with product flexibility across multiple teams and products
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, influencing without direct authority
- Passion for craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and elevating design quality
Nice to have
- Experience building or supporting enterprise-scale design systems
- Experience developing Figma plugins, automation, or AI-assisted design workflows
- Experience measuring design system adoption through analytics or operational metrics
- Experience with Supernova, Zeroheight, or similar design system documentation software
- Experience with composable component libraries (e.g. shadcn/ui)
- Experience in fintech, trading platforms, or other complex data-rich applications
