LegalZoom is hiring a Senior Web Designer for its Design Systems team, owning the marketing web design system. The role blends hands-on UX/UI design with systems thinking, using AI, Figma and a component-based CMS to design, prototype, build and ship experiences.
What you'll do
- Serve as primary UX/UI practitioner leading evolution of the marketing web design system, from tokens to production components
- Apply UX/UI design skills to simplify customer journeys and create effective experiences
- Bring high bar for visual craft, typography, hierarchy, interaction, responsive design and accessibility
- Refactor legacy experiences and correct visual or structural drift
- Champion UX/UI and design system standards through reviews, documentation and critique
- Use AI throughout daily UX/UI design process, from exploration to QA
- Move between Figma, AI-assisted code editors and CMS to explore and validate ideas
- Prototype directly in code with AI and push implementations further when appropriate
- Ship day-to-day web improvements and larger revamps of pages and site sections
- Improve processes using AI, collaborating across brand, SEO, product marketing, partnerships, product and engineering
- Help evolve design system from Figma-driven to code-first and AI-native
- Define rules, specs, prompts, tokens, UX/UI patterns and constraints for AI agents
- Design components for both human and AI use with explicit behaviour and constraints
- Test AI-generated experiences against UX/UI, brand, accessibility and design system standards
- Turn successful AI-assisted design and development workflows into repeatable team practices
What we're looking for
- 5-8+ years UX/UI design experience for web marketing experiences
- Significant experience building or evolving design systems
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI thinking, visual craft and design system work
- Hands-on experience using AI in design process with own tools and workflows
- Fluency in Figma and component-based UX/UI design
- Technical fluency to work in an increasingly code-first environment
- Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools to prototype and build
- Strong knowledge of responsive UX/UI design, accessibility, design tokens, components and prototyping
- Excellent visual judgment and strong communication and critique skills
- Enthusiasm for helping define how AI changes UX/UI design and design systems at scale
Nice to have
- Component-driven CMS experience, such as Builder.io
- Experience designing conversion-oriented experiences in legal, financial, healthcare or similarly regulated categories
