Ikano Bank is hiring its first dedicated design systems voice, embedded in a cross-functional squad with Product and Tech. The role combines hands-on product design ownership with owning the design system's components, tokens and patterns. It's a lead-by-doing role, not people management.
What you'll do
- Own design quality of your product area end to end, spotting problems and driving solutions with your PM
- Design complete customer journeys including research, flows, prototypes and production-ready specs in Figma
- Run your own research and usability testing, bringing in quantitative data to validate decisions
- Own the design system's components, tokens and documentation, establishing patterns and ways of working
- Turn one-off solutions into reusable, shared practice
- Mentor other product designers, lifting their craft and systematic thinking
- Represent design systems in cross-functional conversations and keep work aligned with content and accessibility standards
What we're looking for
- Several years as a Product/UX Designer in digital product teams
- Deep, demonstrable design systems expertise
- Experience in agile, cross-functional squads with Product and Engineering
- Portfolio showing end-to-end product design and systems depth
- Track record of raising craft and driving shared practice
- Bachelor's degree
- Deep design systems expertise: tokens, components, patterns, theming, contribution models
- End-to-end product design across web and native mobile
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility for component design
- Understanding of how product metrics connect to design decisions
- Understanding of how AI tools augment design work
- Grounding in research methods and content design principles

- Financial services or fintech experience
