Headway is hiring a Senior Product Designer to be the second designer on its Design Systems team, partnering with the design systems lead. The role owns Helix, the design system powering Headway's consumer marketplace and EHR product, currently being rebuilt from the ground up.
What you'll do
- Design flexible, scalable components, holding the bar on typography, spacing, color, states, and density
- Ship specs an engineer can build from without a follow-up meeting
- Build Figma library components with variants and properties wired up
- Shape the semantic token architecture and theming spec across surfaces
- Write documentation a designer, engineer, and coding agent can each act on
- Work with product designers and engineers on their design system needs
- Advocate for the right ways to use Helix
- Write migration plans teams follow when a component changes shape
- Champion accessibility and hold Helix to that bar
What we're looking for
- 5+ years designing digital products
- At least two years on a design system used by multiple teams
- Strong visual craft across typography, spacing, color, states, and density
- Clear documentation and well-chosen patterns to scale your work
