GoTymeX is hiring a lead to build and run its engineering front end community, owning mobile front end frameworks and the design system architecture and roadmap. The role starts hands-on before shifting to team leadership, working alongside engineering managers, product managers, designers and architects.
What you'll do
- Design and implement mobile app architecture for scalability, performance, maintainability and security
- Develop front end community skills and advocate for the front end architecture approach
- Build a platform enabling rapid global design system development using automation and AI tools
- Lead cross-platform app development using React Native, Flutter or similar frameworks for iOS and Android
- Guide native iOS and Android development for platform-specific features and performance optimisation
- Mentor and guide mobile developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Adopt an AI native approach
- Research and evaluate new mobile technologies, frameworks and tools for innovation
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to optimise speed, memory and user experience
- Collaborate with QA teams to develop comprehensive testing strategies
- Work with product managers, designers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
- Create and maintain technical documentation on architecture, processes and best practices
- Stay up to date with latest mobile technology trends and advancements
What we're looking for
- Design system experience, developing or working within a design system at scale
- 14+ years designing, developing and deploying iOS and Android applications
- Cross-platform framework expertise, such as React Native or Flutter
- Deep understanding of mobile architectural patterns, e.g. MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture
- Experience with RESTful APIs, web services and cloud API technologies like API gateways
- Understanding of mobile devops practices and tools
- Knowledge of AWS cloud platform and cloud architectures
- Expertise identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, with APM/monitoring exposure (Datadog, Cloudwatch, Firebase)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
