Senior Design Systems Manager role within GetYourGuide's UX organisation, driving the strategic direction of design systems. Owns the design language team's capabilities, processes and scaling across functions, partnering with design, engineering, product and data teams.
What you'll do
- Shape, govern and evolve the design language team and its capabilities
- Lead adoption of automation, AI-assisted tooling and code-driven design
- Partner with Product Design, Content Design, Product Management, Engineering, Research and Data teams
- Deploy the design team across centralised and embedded working models
- Work across all stages of product development from requirements to implementation support
- Guide teams in using the system effectively
- Nurture a culture that embraces system thinking over isolated solutions
- Anticipate and embed emerging trends like generative UI, adaptive theming and real-time personalisation
- Own the team's output of patterns and processes
- Advance the discipline of high quality product design within the organisation
- Sequence complex projects into manageable, actionable steps
- Ensure design decisions solve real user problems while aligning with business objectives
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of experience in product design leadership with strong systems thinking
- Strong vision thinking with proven projects that shaped an organisation's thinking
- Track record of designing and shipping patterns that scaled to millions of users
- AI super user knowledgeable in AI trends and capabilities for design systems
- Experience creating efficiencies across centralised and embedded engagement models
- Understanding of the interplay between frontend interactions and backend logic
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity across user, technology and business needs
- Experience connecting initiatives across the organisation while driving collaboration
- Exceptional collaboration skills bringing tech functions together to craft a design system
- Extraordinary thoughtfulness in interaction design and prototyping craft
- Humble, collaborative approach partnering with PMs, engineers and business stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with machine learning and data science teams
