Figma is hiring an Engineering Manager for Design Systems Adherence, leading the team building workflows, tools, and quality feedback loops that help customers' design and code follow their design system when working with Figma's Agents. The role owns context engineering, agent architecture improvements, and adherence measurement strategy.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow a 6-8 engineer team responsible for design systems adherence
- Coach and develop engineers through career growth, feedback, and technical leadership
- Own and evolve design system context to make guidance useful to AI
- Set technical strategy for adherence measurement including datasets, rubrics, evaluators, and regression checks
- Build benchmarking, tools, and dashboards for design system adherence, visual quality, latency, and cost
- Partner with Product, Design, and AI Research teams to achieve business impact
What we're looking for
- 3+ years leading and growing high-impact engineering teams
- Hands-on depth building AI assistants, evaluation systems, and using large language models and harnesses
- Fluency with modern AI development and evaluation workflows
- Strong foundation in software engineering and a platform mindset
- High quality bar for customer experience, data quality, and reliable measurement
- Ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment
Nice to have
- Strong understanding of design systems, components, tokens, and usage guidelines
- Proven ability to establish evaluation and customer feedback loops
- Skilled in benchmarking AI products across output quality, latency, and cost
- Track record of developing shared evaluation tools, curated datasets, or dashboards
