Famly is hiring a senior design system engineer to join its design team, owning the design system, prototyping tools, and supporting infrastructure. The role drives consistency and coherence across the entire product, working where design and code meet.
What you'll do
- Build production-quality React and TypeScript components for the design system
- Design component APIs that are hard to misuse, and version them so upgrades don't break product teams
- Write documentation that makes components self-serve for engineers and AI agents
- Keep the system trustworthy with tests, visual regression, and a release process
- Learn Famly's frontend deeply enough to know pattern dependencies and impacts
- Audit and evolve existing components for consistency, accessibility, and reuse
- Own the code side of the design standard with a small team
- Push back when a design won't hold up in code and propose alternatives
- Work with PMs, designers, and engineers across product teams, bringing ideas proactively
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of frontend experience in B2B SaaS, including design system work
- Strong skills in React, TypeScript, and CSS
- Taste for craft: spacing, motion, states, and finished details
- Systems thinking: reusable, documented, maintainable components over one-off fixes
- Ability to move from rough idea to working prototype fast
- Ownership of work end to end, from discovery through testing to shipping
- Care about the difference between 'works' and 'is right'
