Senior Design System Engineer at Famly, sitting within the design team. Owns the design system, prototyping tools, and supporting infrastructure to drive consistency and coherence across the product.
What you'll do
- Build production-quality React and TypeScript components for the design system
- Design component APIs that are hard to misuse and version them for safe upgrades
- Write documentation that lets engineers and AI agents self-serve components
- Keep the system trustworthy with tests, visual regression, and a solid release process
- Learn Famly's frontend deeply to know where patterns live and what they affect
- Audit and evolve existing components for consistency, accessibility, and reuse
- Own the code side of the design standard with a small team
- Push back on designs that won't hold up in code and propose alternatives
- Work with PMs, designers, and engineers, bringing ideas before asked
What we're looking for
- 5+ years frontend experience in B2B SaaS, including design system work
- Strong skills in React, TypeScript, and CSS
- Taste for craft: spacing, motion, states, finished details
- Systems thinking: reusable, documented, maintainable components
- Ability to move fast from rough idea to working prototype
- End-to-end ownership from discovery through testing to shipping
- Judgement on the difference between 'works' and 'is right'
