Deutsche Telekom is hiring a Lead Design Systems for its Design & Customer Experience team within Products.Innovation.Experience. The role owns and evolves the shared design system enabling consistency, quality and scale across the company's products and services.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve vision and strategy for the design system
- Drive design system initiatives across cross-functional teams
- Provide expert design leadership
- Own and evolve components, tokens, patterns and guidelines
- Enable designers, engineers and product teams to adopt and improve the design system
- Balance standardisation with flexibility to enable innovation
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design as core principles
- Identify opportunities to improve tooling, governance and workflows
- Mentor designers and foster excellence through coaching and knowledge sharing
What we're looking for
- Degree in Design or a related discipline
- Several years leading large-scale design systems in complex product organisations
- Experience influencing multidisciplinary teams across Design, Engineering and Product
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale design systems
- Strong design leadership with ability to influence without formal authority
- Excellent interaction, visual and systems design skills
- Technical fluency with design tokens, front-end frameworks and design tooling
- Deep knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design
- Strategic thinking aligned with business and product goals
- Outstanding communication, facilitation and stakeholder management
- Cross-functional leadership and change management capabilities
- Fluent English
