Design System Manager role at Deezer, sitting within the Product & Tech organisation of 200 people, including a design team of 11. Owns, evolves and champions Tempo, Deezer's design system, driving both its structural evolution and its adoption across the organisation.
What you'll do
- Bring Figma libraries to a stable, well-structured, fully documented state
- Support, update or establish manual processes: contribution flow, deprecation, icon addition, release notes, support
- Define and track health metrics for adoption and system coverage
- Lay governance foundations: office hours, onboarding, DS champions across teams
- Re-align the design team around shared conventions and best practices
- Connect Tempo to Brand, CRM, and Marketing
- Set up onboarding and ongoing education for contributors
- Automate processes by leveraging the Figma API
- Build a Content System for copy and tone-of-voice patterns
- Enable AI-assisted prototyping using clean Tempo components
- Explore tools like Dust AI and Code Connect to reduce manual overhead
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in design systems, product design, or design engineering
- Deep Figma expertise: variables, auto-layout, component architecture, library management, Code Connect
- Experience writing clear, structured component documentation
- Familiarity with Figma API, webhooks, or automation scripting
- Ability to understand technical aspects: design tokens, Compose/Swift/React
- Strategic thinker who can set vision and roadmap for stakeholders
- Strong cross-functional communicator across design and engineering
- Autonomous and ownership-oriented
- Clear and proactive communicator who brings structure to ambiguity
- Rigorous and structured, building processes that scale
- Pedagogue who writes documentation people actually read
- Comfortable operating without direct reports while having influence
