Senior Creative Engineer role at Critical Mass, sitting within the Creative team. Owns translating design briefs and key art into scalable digital assets across formats, maintaining brand guidelines and design systems.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the Creative Team to bring ideas to life following best practices and brand standards
- Design and adapt key art into pixel-perfect digital assets across formats, sizes and platforms
- Create and maintain scalable templates and design systems for high-volume production
- Produce high-quality motion graphics and animated assets for digital campaigns
- Bring forward ideas to improve systems, templates, automation and workflows
- Work with internal teams, Account and Creative to ensure timely, high-standard delivery of final files
- Become ingrained in the brand's design systems and act as gatekeeper of guidelines
- Mentor junior and mid-level Creative Engineers, supporting their technical and design development
- Understand technical limitations across digital platforms and recommend creative solutions
- Build clean, organised creative files that support scalable production and future adaptations
- Create detailed documentation and template guides for production workflows and design systems
- Stay up to date on production best practices, motion design trends and creative technologies
- Demonstrate adaptability and a continuous learning mindset with new tools and processes
What we're looking for
- 3–5 years as a Production Designer, Designer, Motion Designer or Creative Engineer
- Extensive experience in high-volume, high-scale creative production workflows
- Strong experience building and maintaining design systems, templates and scalable assets
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects for motion design
- Strong motion design and animation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, creative automation platforms such as Celtra or Orca Plus
- Experience building and editing Keynote and PowerPoint presentations
- Collaborative mindset with ability to mentor and develop junior team members
- Pixel-perfect attention to detail with strong commitment to quality assurance
- Expertise in layout production, image optimisation, static and animated advertising, email production and visual guidelines
- General understanding of HTML5
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to learn new tools and technologies
