Product Designer role at Clara owning Prism, the company's design system across web and mobile. Reports to the Head of Design and works alongside the engineers who maintain the library. A hands-on builder role spanning foundations, patterns, guidance and AI tooling for designers, engineers and agents.
What you'll do
- Own Prism's design on web and mobile: foundations, tokens, components and patterns
- Turn design principles into guidance on when to use each pattern, for people and AI agents
- Define the mobile pattern layer, deciding where to follow platform conventions or diverge
- Scale the agentic layer, extending skills, context files and agent workflows
- Set the bar with evals and automated checks for accessibility, visual regression and token compliance
- Benchmark Prism against the best systems using models and close the gaps
- Run the system like a product, owning contribution, versioning and releases with engineering
- Measure adoption and speed, removing what slows product teams down
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in product design, including building a design system and driving adoption
- Senior judgment on system decisions affecting many teams
- Strong design craft
- Daily use of AI tools like Claude Code or Codex to open credible pull requests
- Experience building AI tooling others rely on: agents, skills, evals or workflows
- Deep knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design
- Experience defining patterns for native apps
- Operations mindset: process, metrics, governance and documentation
- Professional English for presenting work, running sessions and writing documentation
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech or B2B products with complex, data-heavy UI
- Multi-brand or multi-market systems, including localization
- Led or supported a migration from one component library to another
- Basic experience with Swift or Kotlin, enough to prototype and review implementation
- Experience with CI, GitHub Actions or visual regression tooling
Good to know
- Hybrid role, splitting time between office, customers and home
- No fixed minimum office days; more days expected during ramp-up or when asked
- English is the working language
